Job Summary

The Director of Construction provides leadership and overall direction to the construction division and to our customers. The Director of Construction is a member of the Senior Management Team, and is responsible for all aspects of the day to day leadership and operational management within the Construction Services Division. This position requires a driven, confident, energetic leader who has the experience to mentor and grow high performing construction teams.

Job Duties

• Develop and Implement Construction Operating Plan.
• Lead, direct, and coordinate the daily operations activities of the construction department.
• Provides oversight and pre-development input to the purchasing / estimating team.
• Plans and coordinates all final construction documents, schedules, and collaborates with estimating and purchasing.
• Responsible for all aspects of multiple projects from start to finish.
• Provide leadership and oversight, internal and external, regarding the successful execution of the project work flow and task management with the collective team.
• Oversee the preparation of weekly & monthly reports on project progress.
• Regularly updates the project schedules.
• Responsible for ongoing resource development.
• Analyzes job costs and manages the project to the closing budget.
• Mediate situations of conflict and find mutual resolution with all respective parties, both internally and externally.
• Perform Performance Evaluations for construction associates.
• Ensures associates and subcontractors remain in compliance with company safety standards.
• Executes successful completion and close-out and the acceptance of each project.

The role of Lead Ceiling Mechanic s to assist our Foreman in all areas of the job. As a Lead, you should have deep experience in acoustical, metal and wood ceilings and be able to run a crew through a job from start to finish. Rightway Acoustics is searching for an experienced Lead Acoustic Ceiling Mechanic. We need an experienced person doing layouts, quickly hanging grid and tile while leading a crew.

• Read and understand project blueprints
• Hang or mechanically fasten support wires for acoustical ceiling grid from various structures
• Hangs dry lines to wall molding and ensure a square grid
• Attach molding to wall to support and seals joint between ceiling tile and wall.
• Layout ceiling on ground according to plans
• Install acoustical ceiling main runners and cross tees.
• Cuts tiles for fixture and borders and inserts tiles into supporting framework.

Lead Ceiling Mechanic Skills:
• Promote job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards.
• Direct activities concerned with production
• Maintain construction schedule.
• Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees
• Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systems.
• Supervise employees on job site
• Ensure all job reports, and documents are submitted correctly and on time.
• Maintain written and photographic documentation daily, showing work completed, any damage done by other trades, safety issues, etc.

Candidates must have a proven record of successfully completing projects on time with a high level of quality and customer satisfaction. Ideal candidates are highly detail oriented and strong problem solvers. Candidates possess the ability to work with sub-contractors, owner representatives, city officials and design/ engineering professionals at all levels. Candidates should possess a superior record of managing quality control with excellent assembly, execution and driving to a Zero- Punch project close, efficiently within established time frames.
Candidates must have 5-10 years of experience as a Restaurant Construction Superintendent successfully completing projects with high customer satisfaction.

• Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills across all stakeholders
• Organized skills in document management and effectively uses computer skills for management

Responsibilities and Duties
• Establish and maintain HIGH SAFETY AND QUALITY STANDARDS in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Studies plans and specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
• Assists in the development of project schedules and updating of progress construction schedules.
• Prepares and transmits various reports, i.e. daily reports, manpower counts, project status and owner required reports.
• Review all drawings, i.e. shop, architectural, structural, etc. when they are issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times.
• Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
• Schedule work, including subcontractors and owner vendors.
• Confers with and directs subcontractor supervisory personnel and engages in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specification, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
• Manages delivery schedule for Owner Supplied Materials and coordinates sub-contractor receipt.
• Maintains a clean and organized work site. Confers with supervisory personnel to resolve issues and conflicts and maintain the schedule.
• Prepares or review reports on progress and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
